In the work world, information often is presented to superiors and coworkers in the form of a presentation requiring slides. To give you practice designing effective slides, revision of your final report will be planned using slides.
Using the design tips described in the chapter, create slides that plan your revision. Your slide presentation should include the following:
- Two slides for each major section of your report (Main Headings)
- The first slide summarizes the key points you make in that section of the report
- The second slide lists the revisions you plan to make to the section
- One slide for CFD
- Identify an issue in the CFD that applies to your draft. How will you revise your draft to address this issue?
Use the feedback file (CFD) to inform your decisions about what to revise. You can refer directly to collective feedback issue titles and short quotes, if appropriate.
Also, when you are creating your slides, remember to use headings and bulleted lists. Large blocks of text copy/pasted from your report are not effective for your audience. Your slides should be clear, simple, and skimmable.
