For instance, Apple pursues an aggressive patent protection strategy as well as aggressively protecting its research and development and trade secrets. Apple also has leveraged its iconic brand through trademark protection. Pixar entered into a licensing and production agreement with Disney that, while highly risky at the time, ultimately led to Disney’s acquisition of Pixar (which made Steve Jobs a billionaire).
