Sustainable cities provide a standard of living that is the best possible with the least environmental impact, while at the same time providing for the needs of future generations. This may include the crime rate, health statistics, unemployment, income growth, cost of living, etc. In a city with a strong built environment, one can contribute a great deal to the quality of life, as well as minimize the impact of people on the environment. Economic success results in a city having wealth and investment, bringing in more jobs as well as better quality of life. Taking public transportation, riding a bicycle, or driving an electric car is one way to get from one place to another. Yes, we will still use cars, they will just be powered by electricity. The area will include everything within walking distance, so people will be able to walk everywhere they choose. I would use electricity instead of gas. By efficiently generating electricity, the greenhouse gas emissions and other air pollution created as a result are reduced, and at the same time, the amount of fuel needed to generate electricity is reduced. For general use, cars, and trucks, we can use solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal. However, a grid able to handle distances is required in order to make this work. For airlines, we will create liquid fuels using hydrogen and carbons. Solar energy is the safeties of the energy sources since there are no environmentally hazardous radioactive wastes in solar energy. Also, solar power plants can be of any size. Another benefit comes from the fact that solar energy has proven to be the most efficient and reliable among renewable energy sources for home and business use. Though Hydroelectric and Wind energy could be alternatives for Solar Energy. Hydroelectricity is the most environmentally friendly, renewable, and efficient energy source, however, it is the most unreliable and can be affected by drought conditions, as rain is unpredictable. Wind energy is a clean, renewable, and relatively renewable energy source. However, it is not reliable enough to ensure that the turbines can produce enough power at any given moment. They can be installed only at places where wind speed is sufficient. Since Solar Energy is the safest source of power, as well as the most reliable, my city will be powered by Solar Energy. Solar Energy does not produce radioactive waste, which is hazardous to the environment. To make electricity for my city, instead of using coal, or oil I’m going to use Nuclear Energy. Nuclear power produces no adverse effects on the climate and is much cheaper than solar, wind, and hydropower. One of the biggest benefits of solar energy is its unlimited, ready availability. The amount of sunlight the earth receives makes the sun the earth’s most abundant source of energy worldwide. Electricity produced from solar yields no emissions, no greenhouse gases, and no fossil fuels, but it does require a certain amount of energy to make the solar panels. Among the advantages of tidal energy is that it is reliably predictable, unlike other sources of renewable energy. Tidal power generation emits no harmful gases into the atmosphere, it is an environmentally friendly energy source. I chose these renewable resources because they are the most reliable and environmentally friendly. This would help make my city more environmentally friendly since it produces electricity from renewable resources. It makes my city more valuable and cleaner. Recycled steel because it is already in existence. Bamboo because has a great deal of tensile strength, can be used in walls and flooring, and is very sustainable since it grows quickly. The insulation properties of sheep’s wool make it an ideal insulator for walls, ceilings, and attics, plus it regrows rapidly. Placing straw bales in walls, attics, and ceilings can also help cool the house in the summer and warm the house in the winter. Precast concrete is generally considered to be more eco-friendly than concrete poured on-site. My home will have a natural light source to bring in natural light by having skylights in every single room, along with light tubes and glass doors to reflect sunlight off the home and bring in the fresh air. A natural light source can affect the color tone and make skin look healthier and more natural than artificial lighting. Natural light levels can raise well-being, productivity, and happiness, as well as reducing eye strain and reducing electricity costs. Sunlight can create glare, making it difficult to see or work. It is also prone to fading the colors of papers, furniture, paintings, and anything it touches. Heat can increase if not carefully planned. Green design is the construction and design of buildings that are efficient, healthy, comfortable, versatile, durable, and easy to maintain. To incorporate green design in my home I will install water-saving alternatives such as rain barrels and greywater systems. Use sustainable building materials and energy-efficient lighting. Lastly, I will seal and insulate my home properly. In order to attract buyers, I would make this home appealing by emphasizing its quality and stability that will ensure the home lasts longer than typical homes. This will show them how much they are saving in the long run. Low impact living means reducing our impact on the planet and its resources. In order to maintain low impact living in this home, you can also reduce, reuse, and recycle. An electric kettle is an energy-efficient device, which has a measuring scale, switches off automatically, and preferably has a temperature control feature. Window replacement can reduce noise and energy costs by replacing windows with double-paned, low-emissivity (low-e) windows. Electric ovens that use less power while getting better results use less power, and with efficient temperature control features.
