Question Description

I’m working on a writing project and need support to help me study.

Assignment Overview

In this journal, you will reflect upon your contribution to the group project.

Purpose:

Your final grade on the project is determined by the quality of the final project (the essay) and by the quality of your contribution to that project. You should be tracking all contributions you make to the project on the contribution log. If your particpiation in the project is ever brought into question, this is the first document your professor will look at. If you do record your contributions, there is no evidence that you did anything.

This journal gives you a moment to reflect on your contribution on the proposal web page. The questions bellow are the same questions you will discuss in your final contribution narrative, so weekly journals give you the opportunity to think about what you will say in your contribution narrative.

Tasks:

  • Review your groups individual contribution log
  • Review the “Being an Effective Group Member” handout
  • Consider your strengths and weaknesses in the following categories:
  • What skills did you use and/or development? (individual responsibility and accountability, constructive feedback, problem solving, management and organization, and knowledge of roles)
  • How did you contribute to a successful group climate?
  • How did you contribute to the process of completing the project?

Criteria for Success:

  • Journal entry will contain at least 1 or 2 well developed paragraphs with topic sentences and supporting sentences
  • Journal entry will address the prompt above
  • Journal entry will utilize the rules of Standard American English

Submission Format:

To submit a journal entry, click the create journal button in the top left corner of the journal assignment. Type into the journal entry box.

Since Blackboard does not automatically save your work, it is best to compose your entire entry in a word processing program and then cut and paste your work into the journal entry box. Save your original work as a back-up file and for possible use in your rhetorical analysis essay.
